The hottest place in the Bristol area to cool off has been temporarily closed for maintenance issues, Bristol Township announced Tuesday while recovery operations from the storm continue.
Township Manager Randee J. Elton in a post to social media spoke to the “frustration” about the municipal complexes spray park closings which started last week.
“We understand the frustration concerning the spray park closures, we all here at the Township Administration share them too. We have the design engineers and contractors that installed coming out tomorrow to look at the park to troubleshoot what the re-occurring problems may be,” Elton said.
The new family friendly kids have a blast attraction quickly became the “go-to” spot for area children and their families attracting more than 500 kids daily to the townships version of a water wonderland paradise.
Elton said there are maintenance issues officials are still learning to deal with, mainly on the filter system and the recycling of the water.
Contractors and engineers that crated the cooling off station are expected to be hand today (Wednesday) to assess and address the “reoccurring problems,” said Elton.
“We want more than anything to be able to open the spray park without any issues, and additionally be able to expand the days and hours for all of our residents to utilize. It gives all of us great joy to see the park being utilized as we envisioned during the design phase, so we ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to work out any and all the issues at the spray park.”
The township recommends checking the Parks and Recreation Facebook page for the announced reopening of the park.
