GIANT Announces 2026 Healing the Planet Grant Program

GIANT, in proud partnership with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, announces the return of the Healing the Planet Grant Program.

The Healing the Planet Grant Program, funded by GIANT, provides $100,000 for native plantings in Pennsylvania by tax-exempt organizations, including local groups, governments, and schools, for shovel-ready projects with native plantings and related costs.

“By joining with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, we have helped to plant more than 8,500 trees and shrubs in local communities throughout the Commonwealth in recent years,” said Courtney Hopcraft, manager of community relations and strategic partnerships, The GIANT Company. “Whether it’s planting trees or reducing food waste, every action makes a difference in creating greener neighborhoods. Through our Healing the Planet Grant Program, we are proud to continue to support our community partners in their efforts towards a more sustainable future.”

The 2026 Healing the Planet grant program offers up to $4,000 for eligible expenses like native Pennsylvania plants, equipment, signage, tools, and supplies. It prefers high native plant quantities. Applications are open online through Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful until May 21, 2026, at 4 p.m., with awardees announced in June.

GIANT has partnered with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful for six years. In the last five years, they have awarded over $1.3 million to 177 projects that connect people to green spaces. These projects protect waterways, address food waste, and promote native tree planting.

We’re proud to continue this work alongside GIANT. Their commitment helps creates visible improvements in communities across Pennsylvania.”
