Earlier this week state Rep. Brian Munroe, (D-Bucks), presented Warrington Township with a $250,000 check earmarked for vital technology upgrades for the police and fire departments at the Board of Supervisors meeting.
The funding was secured through state grants, Munroe said.
It is one of many awards Munroe has secured for his district, his spokesperson said
As a former police officer and firefighter himself, Munroe said he was thrilled to help out emergency services through this grant.
The money will be used to purchase portable radios, body cameras, and in-car camera systems, said Munroe.
“Modern technology helps strengthen public safety and supports the important work our first responders do every day,” Munroe said. “I’m proud to bring these resources back to Warrington to ensure our police and fire departments have the equipment they need to serve our community.”
Munroe is also chair of the state House of Representatives’ bipartisan Law Enforcement Caucus, and has championed resolutions and bills related to funding and honoring law enforcement.
