Warminster Township Department of Emergency Management & Services is pleased to announce the hiring of John Mahon as Assistant Director.
The announcement came last week with officials saying Mahon brings a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of the municipalities risks, hazards, population, and community features.
His background, a township spokesperson said, includes 20 years with the Warminster Fire Department, where he served as a Chief Officer for eight years.
Mahon is a member of the Montgomery County Special Operations team, responding to technical rescues across the region—including water, trench, structural collapse, high-angle, and confined space incidents, Township officials said.
In his new role, Mahon will support the Director in all emergency management functions, community risk reduction programs, fire investigations, and the career firefighter program.
“We are fortunate to have someone with John’s firsthand experience and understanding of the challenges our community faces joining our team,” said Joe Velten, Director of Emergency Management & Services for the municipality.
“His ability to draw on years of experience in fire service and specialized emergency response will strengthen our preparedness, our response capabilities, and our ability to work effectively with our public safety partners.”
