There used to be an unwritten rule among folks living in the Bristol area.
Don’t mess with Silver Lake Nature Center (SLNC) property, unfortunately that unwritten rule wasn’t adhered to over the holiday weekend where vandals reportedly destroyed birdhouses.
A social media post on the SLNC Facebook page alerted locals to the “destructive, illegal activity.”
“Over the holiday weekend, SLNC sadly sustained vandalism, including the destruction of several Birdhouses. Yes, Birdhouses. Someone actually had it in their heart to do that” the post said.
Although the cost of the damages was not publicized an SLNC spokesperson announced donations will be accepted to help to replace/restore the destroyed birdhouses. Potential donors can, visit this link and mention “Birdhouse Project” in the comments section.
The Friends of SLNC is a non profit organization which takes donations on behalf of SLNC
An SLNC spokesperson asked the community to illegal activity taking place the nature center and park property surrounding it , to the Bucks County Park Police at 215-328-8519.
As of September 10 no arrests have been made according to online court records.
