Bensalem approved a land development extension for the 700 Bristol Pike, now 650 Bristol Pike project, on Monday.
The applicant Bristol Roads Commons Associates LLC made a request for an extension on the property for one year out, solicitor Joseph Pizzo.
“Currently there is a land development agreement in place, for the property at 700 Bristol Pike. This is the building that’s going to house physical therapy and related facilities located on Bristol Pike. The project is still underway, the expiration date on the agreement is coming up, so the developers is asking for an additional one year out to September 30, 2027.”
Township Engineer Nicole Khan explained that the holdup was due to fire inspection not being completed, leading to the project being put at a standstill.
Council Vice President Jesse Sloane asked Khan if one year was being too generous?
I believe the project is moving along, I’d like to get it wrapped up ourselves because we have other land development plans to attend to, Khan told Sloane.
Council ultimately granted the extension, with all voting in favor of giving the land development another year to be completed.

Late last year a representative involved with the project Michael Craig Winters said the Bristol Road based development had already leased to a approximately 14,000 sq feet out to businesses.
In a related land development item, council approved a land development agreement for improvements and stormwater drainage for the School Lane Charter School.
School Lane’s has proposed to use the land to build a gymnasium and offices on the 2nd floor of the building located on 3340 and 3350 Tilman Drive.
A project timeline was not discussed.
