A 27 year-old Bensalem man has been charged with 39 sexual assault related felonies of children, Bensalem Police announced last week.
Valeed Anjum of Bensalem Township following an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor, was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Joseph Falcone, who set bail at 10% of $10 million, Thursday.
He was subsequently remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
Bensalem detectives learned that Anjum had been using Snapchat and Roblox accounts to contact multiple children between the ages of 10 and 15. The investigation identified at least five victims from across the United States, and investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anjum allegedly sent explicit photographs to the minors he contacted and, in some instances, paid them to send explicit photographs of themselves to him.
Bensalem detectives executed a search warrant at Anjum’s residence, where he was taken into custody.
During an interview with detectives, Anjum admitted that earlier this year, he met with a 12-year-old girl in New Jersey and engaged in sexual acts with her. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office is also charging Anjum in connection with that incident.
Anjum, who is also believed to have used the alias “Puma,” used the Snapchat usernames “poomdoom69” and “brain.rotty.”
Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet been identified.
If you have information regarding either of these Snapchat accounts or reason to believe your child was in contact with Anjum through Snapchat or Roblox, please contact Bensalem Police Detective Ryan Kolb at (215) 633-3746.
