A 38 year old Levittown woman has been accused of hitting her son with spoons, spatulas, and fastening a cell phone cord to his genitals as a form of punishment, Bristol Township authorities say.
Bristol Township police launched an investigation earlier this year after the boy, who is under 13 years old, was brought to an emergency room by his stepmother after a social worker suggested she have him medically evaluated, according to court records
The social worker suspected the boy had been physically abused while visiting his biological mother during a 14-day stay , according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Lower Bucks Source is not identifying the currently in custody mother, to protect the identity of the child victim.
Doctors from a local medical facility discovered bruising and injuries on the child’s back, shoulder, collarbone and groin areas, the probable cause alleges.
The child also told an emergency department social worker his mother frequently got angry with him and hit him with her hands and spatula. She allegedly took a cell phone charging cord and placed around his genitals and “pulled it hard,” the probable cause says.
The child also said his brother was not treated the same way and he did not feel safe with his mother, said police.
At a subsequent forensic interview at the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center, the child alleged his mother would physically punish him using a phone charging cord once and wooden and metal spoons or her hands in other instances.
The child told a forensic interviewers he was whipped with the cord cable because he didn’t finish his lunch, according to the criminal complaint . He also said his mother ordered him to remove all his clothing including underwear and then whipped him with the cable on his back, chest, leg, arm and groin areas.
He alleged his older brother was taking out the trash when the assault occurred and didn’t witness the attack; No one saw what happened to him, he told investigators.
The child told investigators. according to court filings, that after these alleged assaults, his mother forced him to take cold showers as a form of punishment. In the interview, the child said that he visited the school nurse after he was assaulted, but he could not remember what he told her, police said in the probable cause.
According to the criminal complaint, the child’s father told police he was notified that his son went to see the school nurse complaining about pain in his collarbone and chest area following a visit with his mother in early June.

The nurse contacted child protective services, who called the father and recommended the child be taken to a Emergency Room for a medical evaluation, court records show.
The father told investigators he previously saw marks on his son’s back in 2025, after he had a visit with his biological mother. At the time, both his sons told him their mother hit the younger one with kitchen utensils, police said in court papers. His younger son, according to police also told his father his mother forced him to kneel on the floor for “extended periods of time” as punishment. He was also forced to take “long cold showers” for not obeying her directions. The father told investigators he contacted child protective services at that time, but that the marks had faded away by the time the child was examined, police said.
The father said he kept a video recording he made of the boy’s injuries from the 2025 incident. The boy was referred to a second evaluation at the St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children Child Protection Program which was conducted this past July. The exam, according to police, showed evidence of bruising and marks in various stages of healing on the child’s body, the criminal complaint alleges.
The doctors concluded the child had injuries consistent with being struck by a object, such as a cable or cord, police said. The doctors also noted that cold showers and being forced to kneel for extended periods of time were “inappropriate physical punishment and are a “extremely concerning” form of child abuse, the criminal complaint alleges.
The mother was arraigned October. 7 before District Judge Kevin Wagner on felony counts of aggravated assault and child endangerment, and a related misdemeanor. She was remanded to the custody of Bucks County Correctional Facility, held on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
She has no legal representation as of Oct. 9, according to online court records and is due back in court next month for a preliminary hearing.
