Masked gunmen fired shots damaging vehicles and residential garages in the Bristol Township’s Croydon section early Friday, in what appears to be a failed theft from vehicle attempts, police said.
According to press release, this morning, at approximately 4:16 a.m. Bucks County Police Radio received a report of shots fired in the 300 block of Logan Avenue. Upon police arrival, no issues were discovered. Shortly thereafter police radio received a call for shots fired in the vicinity of 1900 block of Colonial Ave. .
Upon police arrival at Colonial Ave, one resident reported that he was alerted by his security system of a subject(s) in his driveway checking his car door on two occasions.
He told police he yelled at the subject(s) from his front door to leave, which they did without incident.
A short time later, the homeowner told officers, he heard gunshots and determined his vehicle had been struck by bullets.
According to investigators his footage showed one subject holding what appears to be a handgun while checking the car door handle at this residence.
Another resident provided security footage showing, police said, three separate vehicles, a black 2026 Dodge Ram Pick–up, a 2025 Gray Honda Odyssey, and an unknown make/model black sedan, driving slowly in the area, and subjects exited those vehicles periodically to check random vehicle doors. All the involved subjects appeared to have masks and gloves on to conceal their identity.
Security footage from one residence shows the three vehicles stopping and the occupants appear to be communicating before two vehicles drive away as two occupants of the third vehicle get out and fire multiple gunshots down the street. Some of the rounds could be seen impacting the ground in front of them, Lt Mark Titus said,
No injuries were reported.
Two vehicles and two residential garages sustained damage from gun fire. It was later determined that the Dodge Ram pick–up and Honda Odyssey involved had been stolen from Bristol Township earlier on this date.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone who has information about this incident should contact Bristol Township Police Department.
