Two new Bristol Township Police officers were sworn in at last weeks council meeting.

Officers Andrew Stuart and Tyler Aspell were sworn in by the Honorable Judge Frank W. Peranteau, Sr last Thursday.

Both officers were hired in February, but due to COVID restrictions, the public Swearing-In occurred at our Township Council Meeting last week.

Stuart was born in the United Kingdom and was educated in  the United Kingdom  and France. He graduated from the University of Manchester in England first studying Medicine and then Mathematics, ultimately earning a Degree in Mathematics. Stuart wanted to become a police officer his entire life, but his first profession was in the Information Technology field where he traveled the world extensively, eventually moving to and settling in the United States. Officer Stuart eventually started his own successful software company. Stuart maintained his strong desire for public service and dreams of becoming a police officer, so to accomplish his dream he entered the Temple Police Academy graduating in 2020. Officer Stuart speaks multiple languages and loves meeting people while having a passion for problem solving. We are certain Officer Stuart will put these  both skills to good use while serving the Bristol Township Community for many years to come. Stuart is married and has two children, officials said at the meeting.

Aspell was born and raised in Bristol Township, from the Indian Creek Section of Levittown. He graduated from Truman High School in 2014. He joined the Army National Guard at 18 as an infantryman, serving from 2013 until 2019. Aspell graduated from the Montco Police Academy in October 2015. Aspell served as a Philadelphia Police Officer from 2018 until 2021 in the 17th District in South Philadelphia. Aspell is excited to now serve his hometown community and plans to raise his family here in Bristol Township, said officials.

Bristol Township Police Chief Robert Coulton said eight new officers were hired over the course of the pandemic and this is the first opportunity to have the officers sworn in and we’ll be doing this for the next few months at council meetings,
