Trevose Man Gets 11 Years in Prison for Lower Bucks Robberies

A Trevose man will spend the next 11 years in federal prison for a series of armed robberies committed in Lower Bucks County.  

The U.S Attorney’s Office United States Attorney William M. McSwain announced that 54 year-old, Marshall Brooks, was sentenced to 135 months’ imprisonment on Friday.

Brooks pleaded guilty in July to the six armed robberies in Lower Bucks- two of which were businesses and four were banks, according to court records.

Prosecutors say Brooks held a weapon directly to victims bodies and held them hostage while stealing money and goods from businesses one month after being released from serving a 15-year sentence in state prison for a bank robbery, federal authorities say.

“When Brooks was released from his 15-year prison sentence, he had a choice: he could become a law-abiding citizen or he could revert to his criminal ways,” said U.S. Attorney McSwain. “Unfortunately for the victims he terrorized during his crime spree, he took the latter path – the one that will lead him straight back to prison. The streets of lower Bucks County are far safer now that Brooks will be spending the next few decades behind bars.”

• December 14: First Bank, 4956 Old Street Rd, Trevose. Approximately $5,400.
• December 20: Santander Bank, 1425 Street Rd, Bensalem. About $6,600.
• December 31: Smoker’s Express. 2155 Galloway Rd. Bensalem. $500 and an unknown number carton of Cigarettes.
• February, 7 2019: The Smoke Shop, 212 Commerce Circle, Bristol Borough. $300. and cartons of cigarettes.
• February, 12, 2019: The Fine Wine & Spirits, 162 East Street Rd. Feasterville. $650.00.
• February, 13, 2019: First Stop Tobacco Stop, 1606 Street Rd, Bensalem. $400 and an unknown number of cartons of cigarettes.

It isn’t something terrified armed robbery victims soon forget. Brooks is a clear danger to the public, and today’s sentence ensures he’ll remain behind bars for quite some time.
