On Thursday, the Bucks County 911 Call Center went down for approximately two hours experiencing technical difficulties.
“Incoming calls are still being received at Bucks County 911 despite the phone system’s diminished capacity. The county is working with the system vendor Motorola to rectify the issue as quickly as possible”, officials said sometime after 10 a.m.
As of about 12:15 p.m., the issue affecting Bucks County 911’s phone systems has been resolved and service is restored, said the county.
All county fire, EMS and police departments agencies in the county were notified of the issue. First responders throughout Lower Bucks in turn kept locals informed of the “technical difficulties.”
Residents needing emergency assistance should still call 911, said officials in a press briefing, adding “however, if the call is unsuccessful, calls should be placed directly to local police, fire or EMS agencies.”
County officials, in the one update provided, did not detail what were the “technical” challenges..
