PennDOT announced bridge repairs and other construction activities will continue next week on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Sunday, July 7, through Friday, July 12, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on the ramp from southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchanges for bridge repair.
- Monday, July 8, through Wednesday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., alternating lane closures will be in place in both directions on I-95 between the Aramingo Avenue and I-676 interchanges for surveying.
- Monday, July 8, through Thursday, July 11, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges for core borings.
- Monday, July 8, through Friday, July 12, a single lane closure will be in place at 9 p.m., followed by a double lane closure at midnight to 5 a.m. the following morning on southbound I-95 between Ashburner Street and Bleigh Avenue for diamond grinding.
- Monday, July 8, Tuesday, July 9, and Friday, July 12, a single lane closure will be in place at 9 p.m., followed by a double lane closure at midnight to 5 a.m. the following morning on northbound I-95 between Bleigh Avenue and Ashburner Street for line striping.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The bridge repair, diamond grinding and line striping are part of PennDOT’s $37.4 million project to perform high-priority repairs on 27 I-95 bridges in the City, to maintain the functionality, safety, and mobility of the structures along this critical corridor.
