FREE License Plate Replacement Clinic Planned Next Week

State Senator Steve Santarsiero announced a FREE License Plate Replacement Clinic to be held Wednesday to help people apply to replace hard to read or damaged license plates.

If your plate is hard to read, discolored, damaged in any way, this clinic is for you. Avoid getting a ticket and having to pay a fine.

A license plate is hard to read if:

  • One or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet
  • If the plate shows any blistering, peeling, discoloration or loss of reflectivity.

PennDOT will replace the license plate for FREE once they process the required paperwork.

Santarsiero said, he is teaming up with Rep. Tim Brennan and Doylestown Township Police Department to help people complete replacement forms for peeling, damaged, or otherwise illegible license plates.

They will be at the Doylestown Township Municipal Building parking lot next Wednesday, July 17th from 4-7pm.  Appointments are requested.

What to expect:

  • Before your appointment, you’ll receive an email with the required paperwork along with a list of things to bring, including your registration and if you have a vanity plate, a photograph of your plate.
  • Upon arrival for your appointment, a police officer will examine your license plate to determine if it is illegible.
  • If your plate is illegible, a police officer will sign off on the required PennDOT paperwork.
  • Staff from Santarsiero’s and Brennan’s office will be on hand to answer questions and assist with the forms.
  • Once your form is complete, turn it in to a staff member and it will be brought to PennDOT HQ in Harrisburg for processing.

Santarsiero is asking you to schedule a 10-minute drive-thru appointment today: https://www.senatorstevesantarsiero.com/event/license-plate/
