The first change order request 0f a little over $9,800 for professional services by Design Blendz was in consideration at the May 20th meeting and was approved unanimously.Design Blendz and its affiliation to the Falls Municipal Building project comes from their merger with IEI Architects.
In June of 2022, the board approved the hiring of the Philadelphia-based IEI Architects for its municipal building design phase and in August of 2022, to also enter into a professional services agreement between Falls Township and IEI Architects.
IEI Architects operations then merged with Design Blendz in the beginning of 2024.
In other Board related news, Danja, LLC requested consideration to vacate Rome Street and also asking for waiver of land development.
Danja LLC appeared before the board in January 2024, asking for waiver of land development at Rome Street and allowing to lease to one tenant. This was approved by the board.
At Monday’s Supervisors meeting, Chelsea Jackman, an attorney with Begley Carlin and Mandy spoke on behalf of Danja, LLC. Jackman presented a site map of the Rome Street property and explained the request to vacate the paper street known as Rome Street. It’s been confirmed that for decades Rome Street has been unopened and there was no intention ever to open it. It is a classic paper street. The paper street needs to be vacated to confirm the historical utilization of the property. This request, which is named by the supervisors as Ordinance #2 was approved and ties into the next agenda item of Danja seeking waiver of land development.
A brief background, explained Jackman, CVA has occupied the Danja owned space for decades in the highway commercial district and their industrial use is pre-existing and non-conforming. The request is for an allocation of space for a third-party tenant to lease that area. Jackman said in closing, what they are asking for tonight is to confirm what has been the case for many years and from an outsider’s perspective there really is no change. This request is now Resolution 2024-24 and was approved by the Supervisors.
Supervisors in attendance were Brian Galloway, Erin Mullen and John Palmer.
