A Levittown man awaits his preliminary hearing in Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF) after fighting another man and being charged with a felony count of strangulation and lesser degree charges of simple assault, endangering another person, disorderly conduct engage in fighting and harassment
Bristol Township Police were called to a Levittown residence on Saturday, August 10 at approximately 12:32 p.m., for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arriving, they were met by the victim, who was bleeding from his forehead and left eye. The suspect was located in the garage and taken into custody, said police.
The victim told police, he confronted the suspect, identified as Anthony Magretto, 36 of Levittown, about dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. Magretto replied by spitting at the victim and proceeding to attack him by punching him in the face. At some point in the altercation, Magretto grabbed the victim’s neck and started to choke him. The victim said, when he could not breathe for a few seconds, Magretto told him to “tap out” at which time the victim tapped Magretto on the arm and the fight ended, said in the affidavit.
Magretto was arraigned by Judge John T. Galloway, and unable to post bail of 10% of $20,000, was remanded to BCCF. He is tentatively scheduled on August 21 to appear in front of Judge Kevin P. Wagner. Currently, he has no attorney of record, per court records.
