PennDOT announced bridge repairs are planned this weekend and at night next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia under a $100.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and Nicetown neighborhood in Philadelphia.
- From 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, August 19, periodic single and double lane closures are planned on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Henry Avenue and Interstate 76.
- From 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, August 19, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to westbound I-76 will close. Motorists will detour east on I-76, exit at Montgomery Drive, then take the ramp to westbound I-76.
- Monday, August 19, through Thursday, August 22, from 8 p.m. to 11 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to westbound I-76 will close. Motorists will detour east on I-76, exit at Montgomery Drive, then take the ramp to westbound I-76.
- Monday, August 19, through Thursday, August 22, from 8 p.m. to 11 a.m. the following morning, periodic single and double lane closures are planned on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Henry Avenue and Interstate 76.
- Monday, August 19, through Thursday, August 22, from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning, periodic single and double lane closures are planned on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between I-76 and Henry Avenue.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
