The 10-day suspension of a Morrisville Borough Police officer by borough officials in December was executed on the basis of an “unstable” Morrisville woman who has been investigated by police for false reporting on an assault by a “gay black man” in February of 2024, an investigation based on a plethora of sources gathered by Lower Bucks Source.
The Suspension
From the very first minutes Lower Bucks Source (LBS) published its coverage of the 10-day suspension of Morrisville Borough Police officer Bradley Smeltzer voted on and approved by Council last month it became quickly apparent something was very different.
Council did not elaborate on why the officer was suspended or share its circumstances.
Morrisville Labor Attorney Chris Gerber explained Friday the borough’s position in response to a lengthy communication. “Consistent with law and the Borough’s obligation to preserve the integrity of confidential personnel matters, its officials cannot comment on such matters.”
Todd Eagen, Esquire from Welby Stoltenberg Cimballa & Cook, LLC, Smeltzer’s Attorney told LBS in response to a lengthy email to him that he could not say much because the suspension is now being challenged through arbitration. He did offer the following:
“The matter is currently being grieved and will be heard by a neutral arbitrator. Aside from stating that the suspension was without just cause and that Officer Smeltzer and I believe he will be fully exonerated, we have no further comment due to the fact that the case is currently being litigated.”

The LBS Investigation
LBS used a myriad of sources to compile this story, including Morrisville Borough Police records, Bucks County Court records, official documents provided to the publication by at least two sources intimately familiar with the police department’s inner workings, and confidential human sources.Smelzer’s suspension is based upon accusations made by Jenifer Jaradat which when held up to the light are spurious at best and racist at worst, according to more than three human sources who are not authorized to speak on the record about such matters.
About 10 days ago, this publication contacted Jennifer Jaradat seeking comment for this story.
Jaradat originally reached out to Lower Bucks Source within hours of our story covering Smeltzer’s suspension. Jaradat identified herself as the “victim” in the suspension story. There was never a mention of a victim in our story or by any Morrisville Borough official when announcing the suspension of an officer with over 14 years’ experience and who is also the PBA President.

Jaradat, through 23 e-mail exchanges, agreed to be interviewed to tell “my story.” The interview never came to fruition. The Morrisville woman had intimated several times that she had an attorney. After requesting to meet with her and her attorney for a private meeting just among this reporter, herself, and attorney on December 21st, she said “I will talk to my lawyer and see what he wants to do. If not, it will come out in the lawsuit,” she wrote back that same day.
LBS never heard back from Jaradat and she did not, after multiple requests, provide her attorney’s contact information for vetting purposes.
In an online review of federal and county court filings on January 24th and 25th, there were no lawsuits filed on Jaradat’s behalf against Morrisville or any of its public safety officials
Public records at the county level showed civil filings involving divorces, significant debts to creditors, many of which still remain unpaid and a custody lawsuit filed by her first husband requesting full custody of their minor child. The description cited Jaradat’s emotional instability as one of the reasons for her ex-husband’s claims.
This is also supported by police records anonymously sent to the publication involving incidents at the ex-husband’s home where again her “emotional instability” came into question because Jaradat allegedly showed up with an axe in the midst of a verbal altercation.
Jaradat under her Meta profile (which we have confirmed is her) has and continues to allege all sorts of malfeasance by Morrisville Borough police officers. LBS collected dozens of these comments. Jaradat played up her victim role without saying anything, after numerous opportunities to do so, about the circumstances of February 6th 2023.
It is in those circumstances that Smeltzer is suspended because he could not nor would he arrest an African American gay male for assault because it did not happen and/or Jaradat along with a “friend”, according to multiple sources, could not provide a reliable legitimate description.
She Cries Wolf
According to a probable cause (see below) filled by Smeltzer and signed off by Magisterial District Judge Corryn L. Kronnagel on February 26, 2024 with the county watermark seal stamped for approval by the judge’s office Jaradat was to be arrested and charged for false reporting to the police.

LBS obtained copies of the criminal complaint from sources with intimate knowledge of this investigation.

Jardat’s arrest was stopped by then Interim Chief of Police Gerald Simpson at the behest of Morrisville Borough Council President Helen Hlahol and Vice President Scott Robinson because of their personal ties to Jaradat, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the proceedings.
Jaradat, according to sourced information LBS obtained frequently, has cited her ties to Robinson and invoking his name as a way of threatening Morrisville Police officers when they don’t execute her wishes. Additionally, she screams at police officers when they refuse to be weaponized by her against her ex-husband and in rebutting her racist views of African Americans and other minority groups, public safety sources declared.
“Jaradat has a history of making false statements to this department, it is also believed that this is a racially motivated incident,” according to the court document.
Her behavior towards her “black and brown” neighbors borders on vile, community sources have said directly to her in recent weeks.
Endings:
Within the computer systems of the Morrisville Borough Police Department there are at least two video clips collected as evidence from witnesses and Jaradat’s cell phone. Since there is no actual active investigation ongoing into Jaradat’s assault claim Morrisville should release the videos unedited for the community to see. Taxpayers really do want to know.
In the meantime as LBS explained to Morrisville Borough officials Friday a number of what appear to be investigative documents were delivered that seem to indicate officers were routinely threatened with serious by a childhood friend of a current council member and former public safety official.
For some odd and unusual reason LBS has yet to glean why Officer Smeltzer was not given a Loudermill hearing prior to his suspension. Even disgraced former police officer, Michael Pitcher, now a convicted felon, was provided with that opportunity.
Smeltzer has appealed the suspension and soon enough that determination will be made public. According to sources with intimate knowledge of police department workings the veteran officer has never been suspended in his 14 plus years of service to Morrisville Borough/.
