Newtown Township Police Reports Feb 7 2025 – Feb 13 2025
2/7/25 – At approximately 8:45 pm police were dispatched to the area of the Newtown Bypass and Penns Trail for the report of an unresponsive operator in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.
2/8/25 – At approximately 1:45 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Sycamore Street and Richboro Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
2/8/25 – At approximately 9:00 am police were notified by the VIPR system of a stolen vehicle heading Westbound on the Newtown Bypass. The vehicle was a black Hyundai Tucson and was reported as stolen out of Trenton, NJ. Officers began surveying the area and located it in the parking lot of McCaffrey’s Market. Officers initiated a felony traffic stop, and as a result of the investigation, three male occupants were taken into custody without incident and charged with Receiving Stolen Property. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized from one of the subjects, and charges are pending evidence results. One of the subjects also had an active arrest warrant from the Somerset Sheriff’s Office.
2/8/25 – Police responded to a Newtown Township residence around 5:15 pm for a firearm theft report. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
2/10/25 – Police were dispatched to Lululemon around 2:00 pm for a retail theft that was not in progress. The total value of loss was $200, and one male subject was involved. The investigation is ongoing.
2/10/25 – Police were dispatched to Acme Markets at 5:05 pm for a retail theft. The total value of loss was under $200, and as a result of the investigation, police recovered all of the stolen merchandise and escorted the subject off the premises.

2/11/25 – At approximately 10:45 am police were dispatched to C&N Bank located on Swamp Road for the report of a fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
2/12/25 – At approximately 11:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of 7-11 on South Sycamore Street. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence, and a female was arrested in connection. Charges are pending evidence results.
2/13/25 – Police were contacted around 8:30 pm in regards to a fraud involving an elderly Newtown Township victim whose computer was hacked. The total value of loss was $15,000, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
2/13/25 – At approximately 10:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Richboro Road and Mill Pond Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence, and a male was arrested in connection. Charges are pending evidence results.
