Bristol Twp Holding Community Meeting on Increased Radcliffe St. Truck Traffic Concerns

Radcliffe Street trucking traffic is on the minds of residents, state and local officials in Bristol Township and neighboring Tullytown Borough with the township hosting a community meeting tonight at the municipal complex, 2501 Bath Road, at 7 p.m.

The community meeting was announced late last week inviting Edgely residents specifically to the meeting.

“Attention, Edgely Residents! Join us for an important community meeting with PennDOT officials to discuss the growing concerns regarding increased truck traffic on Radcliffe Street”

This meeting is your chance to : ✅ Share your thoughts and concerns with PennDOT ✅ Learn more about the Truck Study that has been conducted ✅ Engage in a productive conversation about solutions and next steps, Bristol Twp. officials said.

Residents living along the beatific tree-lined street that turns into Main St., in Tullytown, has seen a significant increase in trucking traffic coming into the township via Tullytown and circling back, attributing the uptick, to Silvi Construction who reactivated the existing freight train line late last year, which officials believed would reduce trucking traffic.

That is not the case a township source, who asked not to be identified, said over the weekend.

Apparently, Silvi won or earned a salt pickup/delivery contract, the source said, becoming a hub for the snow/ice removal season.

Tullytown officials are not exactly thrilled with the trucking traffic increase on Main St. They claim they will move to ban truck traffic on the road, which officials believe falls under their jurisdiction, and not PennDOT’s – as is the case, the source said, with Radcliffe St. on the Bristol Township side.

Trucking traffic has been the source of headlines in recent months, as with Morrisville Borough banning trucks/tractor trailers weighing over 10 tons on sections of S. Pennsylvania Avenue, as of January.

Township officials got some good news about the Randall Avenue bridge project as it was stalled recently and is now moving forward. Traffic in general in the Edgeley section of the township has been a challenge since the bridge was shut down.
