Newtown Twp. Police Reports – April 17 2025 – May 8 2025
4/17/25 – At approximately 5:00 pm police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty for a retail theft, not in progress. The total value of loss was $210, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
4/19/25 – At approximately 6:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Home Depot rental box truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Yardley Road and Tara Boulevard. As a result of the stop, the truck was impounded, and the investigation is ongoing into its connection to thefts of cooking oil.
4/20/25 – At approximately 11:15 pm police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was taken into custody without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment, and Terroristic Threats.
4/21/25 – At approximately 2:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Durham Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
4/22/25 -Shortly before 10:00 am, a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report fraud. There were several unauthorized/fraudulent transactions from his bank account after he received a scam phone call from someone claiming to be a bank representative. The total value of loss was $1,124, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
4/22/25 -At approximately 4:30 pm police were contacted in regards to the theft of several checks. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
4/22/25 – At approximately 9:00 pm a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report fraud. There were several unauthorized/fraudulent transactions on his credit card accounts. The total value of loss was $4,231.39, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
4/24/25 – At approximately 2:15 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Lexus sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Swamp Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
4/24/25 – At approximately 2:00 pm a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report fraud. After several emails that originally appeared to be from a known contact, the resident was asked to make several wire transfers. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
4/26/25 – At approximately 11:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Pilot operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Lincoln Ave and Jefferson Street. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
4/28/25 – At approximately 5:30 pm police conducted a felony traffic stop on a Toyota Camry operator in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, the vehicle was impounded and two male subjects were taken into custody on active arrest warrants from Monroe Township Police Department.
4/29/25 – At approximately 2:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Ardsley Court and Cherry Lane. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
5/3/25 – At approximately 4:30 pm police were dispatched to the Learning Express on South Eagle Road for the report of an assault in front of the store. Contact was made with the subjects on scene, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
5/3/25 – At approximately 5:05 pm police were dispatched to the area of Durham Road and South Eagle Road the report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. Upon contact with one of the operators, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
5/5/25 – At approximately 11:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a BMW operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody without incident on an active arrest warrant from our department for fleeing and eluding police on March 7, 2025.
5/7/25 – At 10:00 am a Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters to report fraud. His credit card was compromised, and there were several unauthorized transactions. The total value of loss was $500. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact his banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to monitor his accounts.
5/7/25 – Police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty on South Eagle Road around 4:15 pm for a retail theft. The theft occurred on May 6th, involving two female subjects, and the total value of loss was approximately $2,179. The investigation is ongoing.
5/7/25 – At approximately 10:40 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Twining Bridge Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
5/8/25 – At approximately 2:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
5/8/25 – A Newtown Township resident contacted police at noon to report a crypto scam. The resident had received a text from a random phone number supposedly offering a job with Home Depot. The resident clicked the link to apply, followed lengthy instructions, and was later contacted through WhatsApp by a “training coach” for the job, which was described as a product reviewer for the company. A temporary advanced payment process was explained, involving payment after the completion of tasks. The resident was instructed to purchase crypto for those tasks and to transfer it to his work account through them. As a result of the scam, the resident lost thousands, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
