PennDOT announced construction is scheduled next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive in Bensalem and Middletown townships under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane closures will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 between Fairhill Avenue and Rockhill Drive for ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) installation.
- Thursday, May 22, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., the following morning, lane closures will be in place in both directions on Rockhill Drive between Overlook Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard for line striping.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
