The National Weather Service/Mt Holly (NWS) issued a flood watch and severe thunderstorm watch for Lower Bucks County while a heat advisory currently expires with temperatures cooling of a bit later Tuesday night.
The more immediate concern for the next 24 hours, forecasters say, are the flood and severe thunderstorm watches.
The Flood Watch is in effect until midnight -tonight- Tuesday, July 8. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas, NWS officials say.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. -tonight- Tuesday, July 8, however, forecasters say, flash flooding and thunderstorms are expected to slam the area Wednesday afternoon and evening.
