Governor Josh Shapiro on Monday ordered flags at all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings and grounds to fly at half-staff to honor fallen Third District Firefighter Edward Margavich.
“Today, I’ve ordered flags at all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds in Bucks County to fly at half-staff to honor Chief Edward Margavich — former Third District Volunteer Fire Company Chief and Fire Police Captain, who died from injuries sustained in the line of duty,” Shapiro said in a release.
“Lori and I are praying for the Margavich family, and every firefighter who runs toward danger to keep us safe,” said the governor.

State officials from the Fire Commissioner’s Office have been meeting with Third District Fire Company command to work out the details and next steps in planning the procession and final services for Margavich. Nothing official has been released for the final services as of yet.
High ranking sources in the first responder community with knowledge of the arson fire now death causing investigation were saying as late as Monday afternoon an arrest(s) are coming.
“May Chief Margavich’s memory be a blessing,” Shapiro said.
