FTC to Host Free Workshop on Consumer Injuries & Benefits in the Data-Driven Economy

In this fast-paced world where scammers, hackers, data breaches can post a person’s credentials on the dark web, it is most important to protect your information as much as possible. The Federal Trade Commission can educate and help people trying to prevent identity theft in this data-driven world.
The Federal Trade Commission will host a free workshop, open to the public, on February 26, 2026, to examine how the agency can better understand and measure consumer injuries and benefits that may result from the collection, use, or disclosure of consumer data in order to better protect the public.
The workshop will be held online and in person at the FTC’s Constitution Center at 400 7th St SW, Washington, DC 20024. Registration is not required to attend. Additional information about the event, including information about the webcast, will be posted to the event page in the coming weeks.
