Breaking: Bensalem Standoff Ends Safely, Man Surrenders



A Bensalem man barricaded himself in a home on the township late Saturday afternoon,ended the incident when surrendering to authorities without incident,
The standoff started just after 4 p.m witnesses said, as a slew of police officers and arrived on the scene.
One witness, who lived within shouting distance of the standoff, said she could see officers witnesses in the backyards of properties adjacent to where the standoff was located with weapons drawn, sources on scene, told Lower Bucks Source.

Police contacted the man via a megaphone, witnesses reported and held discussions with him asking him to surrender about 30 minutes into the incident
Witnesses reported the suspect was holding a woman hostage, although that has yet to be confirmed by Bensalem authorities. Authorities accessed their armored vehicle and continued to engage the man.
Around 5:50 p.m, the man surrendered to police and the 10-15 marked and unmarked vehicles began to leave the area.
Bensalem authorities have not responded requests for comment as of pres time. No arrests have been logged into the online county court system as of 7:30 pm Saturday night.
