Updated: Red Utility Truck Sought in Bath St Hit-and Run

Police Wednesday night are hoping the public can help locate a utility truck with front end damage that fled the scene after striking a man on a bicycle just before 6:30 pm.

The victim was struck just beyond Bristol Borough District Court on the 500 block of Bath Street.

The fleeing utility truck, Chief of Police Joe Moors said, sped up Bath Street, making a right hand turn onto Rt 13, then making a left hand turn on to Beaver Dam Road, disappearing into the Bristol Terrace area.

Earlier this week utility work began on one of the main roadways into Bristol.

Police ask anyone with information about a damaged red utility truck, or saw the accident to please contact Officer Ritchie Webb at 215 788-7811.

No information was available at press time about the victim’s injuries,.

An unidentified person was struck moments ago in a hit and run on the 500 block of Bath Street.

The struck individual was transported for medical treatment to a local facility by Bensalem EMS.

Witnesses at the scene said, it was their impression the victim was riding a bicycle when struck.

A bicycle can be seen on the side of the Bristol Borough District Courthouse placed there by investigating officers.

Officers including Chief of Police Joe Moors are on scene investigating the incident.

Two sources said officers were seen washing away blood from the street.
