Update: Bucks DA Investigating Falls Police Shooting

Update: 1:45 pm Tuesday

The Bucks County District Attorney’s office released the following statement about last night’s police shooting in Falls Twp

“The incident began with a routine traffic stop early Tuesday. A male displayed a handgun to police on two separate occasions. At one point he fled from police in his vehicle. After the male was shot, police secured the firearm and rendered aid on the male until paramedics arrived.  The male subject was transported to a hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. Both officers were uninjured and are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office will make a determination on this shooting once the investigation is complete. Until that time, the office is not releasing the names of any of the parties involved”

The Bucks County District Attorney’s office is investigating a police shooting last night in Falls Township.

Falls Twp Chief of Police Nelson Whitney a short while ago confirmed the tips that were sent to Lower Bucks Source early Tuesday morning.

“Yes, our department was involved in a shooting last night. We are referring all media inquiries to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, as they are investigating,  said Whitney a short while ago.

Lower Bucks Source – Bucks Digital Media, LLC has reached out to the DA’s office for comment Tuesday morning.

Manuel Gamiz Spokesperson for the DA’s office said information would be released “later today.”

No information on the condition of the person who was shot has been released as of yet, and officials declined to comment on questions specific to shooting and the circumstances surrounding.

Tips sent in to LBS late last night and early this morning have conflicting information therefore the publication will hold back the information, for now, until the tipsters accounts can be confirmed.

The information we have been able to confirm is a “suspect” was shot by a Falls Twp officer.
