Update: Levittown Man Charged With Aggravated Assault In Thornridge Standoff

Update: July 2, 9:30 am

Rio Joseph DeMaio, 43 of Levittown was video arraigned by  Warrington District Judge Mark D. Douple at 8: 30 Sunday morning on one count of aggravated assault, four counts of terroristic threats, one count reckless endangerment, one count simple assault connected to the the standoff that  took place last night in the Thornridge section of Levittown.

Judge Douple set his bail at 10 percent of $1,000,000.00 and he was was sent to Bucks County Prison with a July 18 court date scheduled currently.

Falls Township Police the Bucks County Major Incident Response Team is on location and a host of neighboring law enforcement departments responded to the Thornridge section of Levittown just before midnight.

There were unconfirmed reports of gunfire before police arrived on scene.

Neighbors who lived within yards of the police activity said they could hear police negotiators through a bullhorn attempting to contact the man in the Tea Berry Lane home.

The man taken into custody around 3:45 Sunday morning First reponders  checked him for injuries before police transported him to headquarters for processing.  No other additional information is available at this time

Falls Township Police did not immediately respond to information requests from the publication.  An online review of arrests made for Sunday showed no arrests made as of 4:30 am.
