Mitchell has taken the open discussion in stride, saying “it’s the new councils prerogative to retain me or not, kiddingly adding “I can use the free time to go fishing, if that’s what is eventually decided, he said in late November.

Earlier this week, Mitchell appeared on WBCB’s “Speak Your Piece” with Pat Wandling, and Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks Executive Director Jeff Darwak, and then the volume on Mitchell’s future working for other municipalities got louder, even as he was still on the air at WBCB.

One source who asked to remain anonymous, “he would be perfect for Bristol Township,” said Monday afternoon

A second source said, “If isn’t Morrisville, he’ll be grabbed up by some other municipality, quickly, you can bet on that, after Monday’s radio appearance

Mitchell has helped the borough receive about 2 million dollars in grant money for various community based projects, in prior capacities has served as Langhorne Borough Manager, at the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks, and prior to the manager’s position in Morrisville, was the interim head at the localities senior center.

Mitchell, on Thursday again reiterated the incoming council might very we’ll go another direction for borough manager, and if so, Mitchell said, he’s been contacted by five other jurisdictions, so far, about future employment.

Mitchell did say he’s declined one offer already because it would require moving to a completely new area. Which is something he’s not interested in doing. Mitchell is a lifelong resident of Levittown.

Mitchell would not say which “jurisdictions” have shown interest in hiring him politely saying “I can’t really comment on that at this time.”

One of the rumored destinations, Bristol Township, where Bill McCauley officially retired from managing the municipality earlier this month, was shot down by Council President Craig Bowen on Thursday. Bowen said Bristol plans to move forward with Randee Elton at the helm. Bowen was asked on follow up if the township would be interested in Mitchell services as a manager in the future, he said “no.”

If you listen carefully to the discussion from the radio show on Monday, you’ll come to realize, if Mitchell is not retained by council, he will have at least four options to choose from, if not more.
