Updated: Suspect Taken into Custody after Standoff in Morrisville Borough



Updated: 12:50 pm Concerned citizens tell Lower Bucks Source one man was taken into Police custody after a front door was breached after about a 90 minute standoff.
The sources said, officers part of Bucks County SWAT escorted the man to an awaiting police vehicle and he was subsequently whisked away.
Witnesses to the police activity first described what appeared to be Bucks County Bomb Squad personnel on scene with Morrisville Police.
A neighbor on Wilks Street said the man removed from the residence by police has had mental health issues in the past
Lower Bucks Source contacted Morrisville Police a short time ago and a response was not immediately provided.
Concerned citizens did not report any injuries.

The freezing quiet of Christmas Eve morning was broken in Morrisville with multiple reports posted to social saying police in riot gear are at a Wilks Drive home..
One poster near the scene, who pulled down there post to a Morrisville Town Watch page, Police in riot gear where on Wilk Drive and had it corned off from the community.’
A second and third source described the police activity in similar if not exact ways adding the law enforcement activity is in the area of Trenton Ave and Wilk Drive.
“There looks to be bomb squads and an officer saying something to someone inside their home. men are walking around with helmets and vests,” the source said.

On Thursday night the Morrisville community was shaken after a man was shot and killed in an apparent domestic dispute.
As of publication time there is no information saying today’s police activity is related to Thursday’s homicide.
