An attentive overnight patrol led to a quick Bensalem police burglary arrest on Tremont Avenue after officers spotted a suspicious vehicle parked nearby, according to authorities.
Upon investigating the surrounding area early Friday morning, Oct. 9, officers discovered a broken window and an unsecured door at 3190 Tremont Avenue, police said.
After additional officers arrived, including a K9 officer, police entered the building.
Officers discovered two individuals inside the building: 44-year-old Matthew Guiffrida of Newtown and 38-year-old Lauren McKenna of Warminster.
Subsequent searches of both individuals revealed burglary tools, drugs, and drug paraphernalia, court records show.
Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.
Guiffrida and McKenna were each charged with burglary, criminal trespass and misdemeanor counts of possessing an instrument of crime, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Both were arraigned by on-call District Justice Terrence P. Hughes, Sr., who set Guiffrida’s bail at 10% of $200,000 and McKenna’s bail at 10% of $25,000. Both were subsequently remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility with court dates later this month.
