The next chapter in Bristol Borough Fire Association will begin to be written —as officials announced— plans for the new, centralized, consolidated fire station will be revealed next Wednesday at a special public meeting to be held at Borough Hall.
Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe made the announcement at Monday night’s Council meeting however he was scant in terms of providing any specific details.
“We’re going to have a meeting next Wednesday, **** p.m. to announce we finally think we have a plan.”
Apparently, DiGuiseppe planned to make the announcement in the later part of the meeting. However, he took the opportunity to do so earlier, due in part to questions from residents living on Porter Avenue who voiced concerns and opposition to the planned new emergency services station.
DiGuiseppe said questions about the soon-to-be revealed plan will be addressed at next week’s meeting.

Although not finalized or official, speculation has been the new state of the art fire station will be constructed on Jefferson Avenue where the Adams Hollow Gardens and basketball courts are currently located.
Officials have repeatedly noted that “centralized location” was chosen because of space availability, minimal impacts of response times, and first responder safety.
Last year, Advocates for the Adams Hollow Gardens began voicing concerns about potentially losing the space they occupy, and the loss of open space, if a new fire station were to be built on Jefferson Avenue.

Borough officials are committed to relocating those community resources if need be.
“We are committed to keeping that in place. It’s a huge asset to our community, but we are first and foremost committed to fire safety,” officials said.
Bristol Borough Fire Association (BBFA) President Steve Reeves has said a new station will enhance public safety in Bristol Borough.
The new fire station will include on-site living accommodations and with plans to house a Bucks County Rescue Squad substation, strengthening readiness and emergency coverage across the Borough and throughout Bucks County, officials said.
Tax payers have voiced concerns about the costs, what will happen to the existing four fire stations, and the current funding disbursements to the fire companies.
