Time ran out for a Bensalem woman who is an apparent nurse wanted by Bristol Township authorities since April for allegedly cashing bad checks.

Bristol Township Police arrested 36-year-old Katelin Nickels on Saturday. She was arraigned by on-call District Judge Corryn L. Kronnagel who remanded her to the custody of Bucks County Jail. She is charged in three separate cases, accused of forgery and altering checks, with bail set at 10 percent of $25,000.00 in the three cases.

Lower Bucks Source obtained the court records connected to two of the three incidents on Monday.

According to the probable cause, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 10:20  a.m., police were dispatched to Global Currency Check Cashing, 504 State Road, Croydon, for a fraudulent check report.

Police spoke with the complainant and owner of the business. He told police on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at around 5 a.m. Nickels came into the check cashing business and allegedly cashed a fraudulent in  the amount of $1,498.13.

The fraudulent check was from “Mccullough Rubbish Removal, Inc.”, with First National Bank and was fraudulently made out to Nickels, according to court records.

Police interviewed the owner of Mccullough Rubbish Removal, Inc., who confirmed the check was fraudulent. The complainant told investigators that First National Bank has already frozen her accounts prior to this incident, the probable cause alleges.

Police confirmed the business lost $1,498.13, due to not catching the “bad check” at the time that it was cashed, court records show.

A warrant for Nickels arrest was filed on April 28, followed by a second warrant for a second incident on May 12, by Bristol Township Police.

Nickels, was apparently unaware of the warrants when she showed up Saturday morning at Five Points Financial Services, located at the 7100 block of  New Falls Rd. and attempting, according to police, to cash a fake check..

Police met with Nickels inside of the store and also the complainant. Nickels was attempting to cash a fraudulent $480.11 check from “Solebury School.”

In addition, the complainant said, Nickels allegedly cashed a fraudulent check for around $1,500 a few weeks prior.

Police spoke to Nickels who was insistent that she needed to leave to speak to her Uber driver.  Police asked her where she got the $480.11 check from and Nickels allegedly said,  “work,” claiming  she was a nurse at Lower Bucks Hospital.

The complainant provided police with both the checks as well as a PA license that Nickels had given as identification. The license had the name of “Sarah Newman” with a date of birth of 9/23/1988.

Police ran a records check on the license through NCIC but it did not return to Newman, it returned as being a identification card for a woman from Pittsburgh.

Nickels was detained by police who subsequently checked her through NCIC and her warrants were discovered, according to the probable cause.

She has no attorney of record, according to online court records, and is scheduled to make court appearances on October 27 and 28 to answer to the charges.

A Lower Bucks Hospital spokesperson, in response to a request for comment, said they are legally prohibited from commenting on police matters or any potentially confidential historical records.
