Emily Rizzo, 32 of Levittown, was taken into custody by Bristol authorities on January 28 on an arrest warrant out of Bristol Township. She was processed and arraigned by Judge Wagner. Bail was set at $200,000/10% and she was released to the Constables. Rizzo spent about eight days at Bucks County Correctional Facility before a Bucks County Judge reduced her bail to an unsecured amount on Feb 5.
Rizzo is now scheduled to appear for a procedural hearing at Bristol Township District Court on Feb 11. She stands accused of felony aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and related offenses for a July 2, 2024 incident in which she allegedly stabbed her mother in the midst of a behavioral health crisis. An arrest warrant has been issued for a Bristol Township woman accused of stabbing her mother after an alleged drug and alcohol binge last summer.
Charges were originally filed against Emily Rizzo, 32 of Levittown, last July but were dismissed without prejudice at a October 22 preliminary hearing.
Bristol Township Police on Tuesday issued the arrest warrant for Rizzo, on the same charges- felony aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and related offenses – filed against her this past summer as District Attorney’s office and the Bristol authorities are presenting the case for a second time.
Emergency services were dispatched on July 2 for a report of a woman “experiencing a mental health crisis” and apparently responding to internal stimuli.
Family members, according to court records, said Rizzo came home to the Ivy Hill Road residence in the Levittown section of the township intoxicated and high on methamphetamines yelling about Satan and God. She was also threatening to take her own life. Rizzo allegedly grabbed a steak knife and a scuffle broke out in which three family members, tried to pry the the knife away her. During the struggle Rizzo stabbed her mother about six times, causing observable wounds and lacerations, according to court paperwork.
Rizzo spent a little more than three months at Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF) before the case was dismissed in October. She was released from BCCF that same day.
