Morrisville Shooting Investigation is “Ongoing”, Police Say

Published

A July 4 shooting that took place in the area of the Morrisville municipal parking lot is still under investigation, police say.

A memorandum penned by Chief of Police,  George McClay, and obtained by Lower Bucks Source, said evidence of the shooting could not be found during the initial investigation in which two men suffered gun shot wounds.

The incident which took place in the early morning hours of July 4, seemed to be “related”  McClay said in the memo.

According to the document, shortly after the shots were fired at around 1:40 a.m., Bucks County Police Radio notified a responding officer that one gunshot victim arrived at St Francis Hospital and a second at Capital Health, by private modes of transportation.

Both hospitals are located in Trenton , New Jersey.

The first victim, according to the memo, is a black male, 32, who suffered a gun shot wound to his left knee. The victim told police,  he was in the back part of the municipal building parking lot when he observed women running and heard a single gun shot and realized he was wounded.

The victim, told police, he was picked up by another male and driven to Capital Health for treatment of his gun shot wound. He also told police, according to the memo, that he did not see who shot him and that was trying to get into the Flyers Den, where police said, a private party was being held.

The gun shot victim, a 20 year-old black male, who suffered and in and out wound to his right thigh told police he was shot in Trenton.  McClay said the victim did not cooperate any further with the investigation.

Trenton Police, McClay said, are also investigating and on Friday  police officials did not respond to requests for comment from this publication about their investigation.

Bucks County Detectives along with Morrisville Police, were planning to collect video surveillance from the area where police believe the shooting occurred, McClay detailed in the memo.

McClay said there were about 200 to 250 people in the area of the parking lot before the shooting.

A Sunday evening review of online court records revealed there were no gun violence arrests made by Morrisville Police since the shootings took place last week.
