Newtown Twp. Police Reports Dec 11, 2024 – Jan 2, 2025
12/13/24 – A Newtown Township resident contacted police around 2:00 pm in reference to unemployment fraud. A report was made to document the incident.
12/14/24 – Shortly before 10:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a GMC Sierra operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Falls Township Police Department and transferred without incident.
12/15/24 – At approximately 3:00 am police conducted a traffic stop on an Audi A5 operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silver Lake Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
12/16/24 – At approximately 1:45 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Focus operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Cambridge Lane and Gablewing Circle. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
12/17/24 – Police were dispatched to the Bucks County Community College around 10:30 am to check the well-being of a subject standing outside. As a result of the investigation, the subject was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Burlington County, NJ, and transferred without incident.
12/17/24 – At 7:00 pm a Wrightstown Township resident contacted police to report a fraud involving cryptocurrency. The incident was referred to the Detective Division, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
12/18/24 – At 10:10 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Escape operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham and Durham Roads. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.
12/19/24 – At approximately 3:45 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Pathfinder operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Municipal Court of Philadelphia. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
12/20/24 – At approximately 12:45 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Kia Optima operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Twining Bridge Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
12/20/24 – At approximately 1:15 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Municipal Drive and Durham Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
12/20/24 – At approximately 6:45 pm police were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic accident into a utility pole. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.
12/23/24 – As a result of an investigation, criminal complaints were filed for two male subjects in connection to a commercial burglary that occurred in Wrightstown Township on November 14, 2024.
12/23/24 – A Wrightstown Township resident contacted police at 1:35 pm to report a fraud involving false pretenses. The incident was referred to the detective division for further investigation.
12/24/24 At approximately 12:45 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Avalanche operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Alexanders Court and Windy Bush Road in Wrightstown Township. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
12/26/24 – Police were dispatched to Lululemon around 1:30 pm for the report of a retail theft. The total value of loss was approximately $2,000, and the investigation is ongoing.
12/26/24 – At approximately 9:30 pm police were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic accident in the area of Wrights Road in Wrightstown Township. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
12/28/24 – At approximately 1:10 am police conducted a traffic stop on an Acura sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham and Durham Roads. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, and suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
12/30/24 – Police were dispatched to McCaffrey’s Food Markets at approximately 4:45 pm for the report of a retail theft not in progress. The total value of loss was less than $150. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was cited for retail theft.
1/1/25 – Police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty at 12:30 pm for the report of a retail theft that occurred on December 24, 2024. The total value of loss was over $750, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
1/1/25 – At approximately 10:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge pick-up truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Twining Bridge Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
1/2/25 – At approximately 1:15 am police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Summit Trace Road. As a result of the investigation, the operator was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Stroudsburg Sheriff’s Department and transferred without incident.
