Bristol Man with Arrest Warrant, Charged for Vehicle Theft by Yardley Police

A Bristol Township man with an arrest warrant filed by local police was charged and jailed last week by Yardley Borough Police with new charges filed.

Michael J. Lavelle, 50 of Croydon was arraigned by on call District Judge Kevin P. Wagner Thursday night and was sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $150,000.00 bail, for allegedly stealing a vehicle

Yardley Police received a report of a stolen vehicle on Monday May 2 from Lincoln Avenue, a press release said.

Police investigated the report which led to the identity of the suspect and confirmation Lavelle had an outstanding bench warrant held by the Bristol Township Police Department..

On May 5, an arrest warrant was issued for the new theft related charges, Police said.

Later that day, Police investigating a tip caught up with Lavelle, on Street Road in Bensalem Township.

The vehicle was recovered and he was taken into custody without incident.

Lavelle is currently scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at Morrisville Borough District Court on May 24 to answer the charges.
