DESCRIPTION:Newtown Business Association \nThis parade is a huge event that continues to provide a magical experience for the whole community. Hosted each year by the Newtown Business Association\, it is a great opportunity for local businesses to get involved and for families to line the streets to watch a spectacular event. In past years over 60 groups have participated\, totaling over 1\,800 participants. Come out and find a comfy spot to watch this amazing event – Free to Spectators!! \nThe parade promptly kicks off at 2 p.m. from South State Street at the Stocking Works. It then continues north to Washington Avenue and makes a left turn\, then turns right onto Sycamore Street\, ending at the corner of Sycamore St. and Durham Rd. Parade announcers will be located at Goodnoe Corner next to the Green Parrot. \nGet ready for extra holiday cheer! Come early or stay late for an unforgettable day filled with festive fun!  Enjoy face painting\, balloons\, treats for our furry friends\, hot cocoa\, warm drinks\, candy\, and more before the parade. \nAnd don’t miss your chance to be part of history in the making! Join us after the parade in front of The Green Parrot as we attempt to break the World Record for the largest group doing the Macarena! We need you to make it happen! \nLet’s celebrate\, dance\, and spread joy this holiday season! \nParking Restrictions: Beginning at 11 p.m. Saturday night  \n\nNo parking on South State from Penn Street to Washington Avenue (No Exceptions)\nNo parking on North Sycamore Street from Washington Ave to Durham Rd\nAnyone parked in the Newtown Borough Municipal parking lots can only exit via Centre Ave and travel west towards Sycamore Street\n\nRoad Closures: Beginning at 1:20 p.m. (Subject to change for pedestrian safety) \n\nSouth Street from Barclay Street to Greene Street\nWashington Ave from Chancellor Street to Sycamore Street\nNorth Sycamore Street from Washington Ave to Durham Road\nJefferson Street – Bridge will be closed\nWashington Ave – Bridge will be closed\nCentre Ave – Bridge will be closed at the start of the parade\n\nIf you are attending any events at the Newtown Theatre\, North State Street at Jefferson Street will be open for local traffic only. \nGet ready for extra holiday cheer!
