Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) announced, on Tuesday, he has secured an additional $1.25 million in federal Community Project Funding for United Way of Bucks County’s new permanent headquarters and HELP Center in Levittown calling it a “major victory” for Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District.
The grand opening of the new site located at 2901 Edgely Road in Levittown was attended last month by dignitaries and officials.
United Way helps people here in Bucks County who are struggling to get basic necessities like food, clothing, and home goods.
Fitzpatrick said this latest investment marks another major milestone in a years-long partnership to transform how Bucks County families access essential services, emergency assistance, and opportunities for long-term stability.
Two years ago, the Congressman secured just under $3 million for the HELP center in 2024 as part of the plans for the United Way expansion for the non-profit new Levittown home.
Since opening, the new HELP Center has served more than 3,200 unique neighbors, with United Way reporting a 60% increase in neighbors served compared to the previous quarter at its former location, according to Fitzpatrick.
“United Way of Bucks County’s new headquarters and HELP Center represents an extraordinary opportunity for Bucks County. Thanks to Congressman Fitzpatrick’s leadership and his commitment to this work, we can make it easier for more people to get the help they need, connect families with opportunities for greater financial stability, and build a stronger future for our neighbors. His support helped turn an ambitious vision into a reality that will benefit Bucks County for generations to come,” said Marissa Christie, President & CEO of United Way of Bucks County
“I’ve had the honor of working alongside Marissa Christie and the extraordinary United Way team for many years, and I’ve seen firsthand the difference their dedication makes in the lives of our neighbors. When Marissa shared her vision for a permanent home that could fundamentally improve how we serve families across Bucks County, I got to work,” Fitzpatrick said.
