Last Thursday, after its board met, the BCWSA Utility Services (BCWSA) Board of Directors approved the 2027 water and sewer budgets, keeping rates unchanged for customers of both utilities next year it was announced.

The budget includes BCWSA’s ongoing investments to reduce inflow and infiltration by identifying and repairing leaks and other points where groundwater and stormwater enter the sanitary sewer system, officials said.

The work has included inspecting sewer lines, repairing and replacing aging infrastructure, monitoring sewer flows, and improving the Neshaminy Interceptor, according to release from BCWSA.

In addition, BCWSA’s investments will continue to maintain the highest quality drinking water, including its well sites in New Hope Borough and Solebury Township.

The Authority has made significant progress in addressing PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals,” with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection testing results showing substantial declines in PFAS concentrations over the past two years.

Recently, in response to customer concerns and complaints about the Authority’s new online billing system that was rolled out in April, online webinars were held to help customers understand the new system.

Officials said the combined 2027 operating budgets for BCWSA’s water and sewer systems total $102.2 million, with sewer operations representing most of the expenditures.
