Bucks County residents looking to safely clear out their medicine cabinets can soon participate in a countywide drug disposal initiative hosted by local law enforcement, community coalitions, and the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc.
The upcoming National Prescription Drug Take Back Day provides a free, safe, and convenient way to dispose of unused, unneeded, or expired medications. Free drive-up and walk-in drop-off sites will be available throughout Bucks County on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Accepted Items Include:
- Prescription Medications
- Over-the-Counter Medications & Vitamins
- Pet Medications
- Vaping Products (such as JUUL devices)
- Sharps/Needles (accepted at 30 designated collection sites)
Additionally, select collection locations will distribute free Narcan (naloxone) to community members.
Safe medication practices – such as proper storage, taking medications strictly as prescribed, and securely locking up prescription drugs – are critical first steps in preventing accidental poisonings and substance misuse.
For a complete list of collection locations, site protocols, and accepted items, visit www.bcdac.org or call 215-444-2700.
