HBO Series TASK Renewed, to be Filmed Entirely in SEPA After Getting Largest Tax Credit Ever

If you’re a fan a of the HBO series “Task” good news was announced last week for the crime drama set in Chester County.

HBO renewed the series for a second season and the Shapiro administration has awarded $49.8 million through the Film Production Tax Credit Program to produce Season 2 of HBO’s critically created by Chester County native Brad Ingelsby.

HBO estimates that Season 2 of “TASK” will inject $194.1 million into the economy in direct expenditures, creating and supporting more than 3,700 Pennsylvania jobs.

“This is the largest tax credit we’ve ever awarded to one show, and we’re proud to support another returning series by homegrown storyteller Brad Ingelsby through the Film Production Tax Credit Program,” said Film Commissioner Pesi. “The Shapiro Administration understands that supporting productions like TASK have a powerful impact on Pennsylvania’s creative economy through the creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs, while also giving new opportunities to local businesses in the southeastern region. We look forward to continuing this great partnership with HBO as we further grow the creative industries across the Commonwealth.”

The production is also expected to boost the hospitality industry by utilizing 25,000 hotel nights in the Commonwealth, officials said.

“I am thrilled to be filming another season of TASK in my home state of Pennsylvania,” said Ingelsby, Creator, Executive Producer, and Writer of HBO’s “TASK.”  “I’m deeply grateful that I get to tell stories about characters from this very specific part of the country while working alongside the wonderful people who also call Pennsylvania home.”

The series, follows an FBI agent, played by Mark Ruffalo, who works to stop a series of biker-gang related robberies in the Philadelphia suburbs.

“HBO/Warner Bros. Discovery is extremely grateful for the support and partnership with Governor Shapiro and the State of Pennsylvania, as well as Gino Pesi and the Pennsylvania Film Office, on the second season of TASK,” said Janet Graham Borba, EVP Production, HBO. “The locations in and around Philadelphia add an invaluable level of authenticity to the series. Furthermore, the opportunity to bring a production of this caliber to Pennsylvania and provide jobs to its citizens and businesses is extremely gratifying to Brad Ingelsby and all of us at HBO.”

The Pennsylvania Film Office, part of the state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), administers the Film Production Tax Credit Program. The program offers a 25 to 30 percent tax credit to productions that spend at least 60 percent of their total budget in the Commonwealth.

Since the beginning of the Shapiro Administration, the Pennsylvania Film Office has approved more than $309 million in Film Tax Credits to 106 projects, creating over 35,000 jobs, according to DCED’s 2024-25 Economic Impact Report.

The second seasons which will be filmed entirely in Southeastern Pennsylvania, is expected to inject $194.1 million into the Commonwealth’s economy.

Pothole Repair Continues Next Week in Bucks County

PennDOT announced maintenance crews will be working next week to repair deteriorated pavement on state roadways in Bucks County.

Drivers are advised that periodic daytime lane closures and possible slowdowns will occur next week at the followinn g locations:

  • Route 413 (Veterans Highway/Durham Road), Bristol and Buckingham townships
  • Durham Road, Middletown Township
  • State Road, Bensalem Township
  • Route 611 (Easton Road), Tinicum Township
  • Route 663 (John Fries Highway), Quakertown Borough and Milford Township
  • Almshouse Road, Doylestown and Warwick townships

Other Main Roadways

  • I-76
  • I-95
  • U.S. 1
  • Route 63 (Woodhaven Road)

Drivers are reminded to slow down in work zones and refrain from distracted driving to keep themselves and our workers safe.

Since January 1, PennDOT District 6 has received more than 2,900 customer concerns regarding potholes and has used more than 740 tons of asphalt across the five-county Philadelphia region.

Falls Township Police are seeking help with locating a missing 17 year-old last seen on Trenton Avenue Friday morning.

Morgan Douglas was last seen this morning in the 900 block of West Trenton Avenue, Morrisville, police said in a press release.

She was wearing a grey ‘essential’ hooded sweatshirt, a dark grey North Face Jacket, and black ‘Croc’ shoes. Morgan also has a tattoo, reading ‘Morgan,’ on her right wrist.

Police Seek Info on Missing Teen Believed to be in Lower Bucks Area

Police from Plumstead Township Police Department with an assist from Tullytown  Borough Police  are asking for help from the community in attempting to locate a missing  17 year-old .

Ryan  Jaatar Age 17 is  5ft 8in Brown eyes and has not been seen since January 3, 2026, police say.

Jaatar was last seen by his father at their residence in Plumstead Township.

Jaatar’s, according to investigators,  is believed to be in the Levittown/Bristol/Croydon area.
