Bristol Warriors Multi Sport Athlete Amiriah Bell is Taking Her Talents to Play Softball for the HFU Tigers

A second Bristol High School Warriors athlete signed a letter of intent to play and attend Holy Family University Tigers in Philadelphia beginning in the fall of 2026,

Amirah Bell, a multi-sport athlete at Bristol Borough High School, is known for her competitive spirit through friendly rivalry with her boyfriend, another star athlete at the school. Her drive and determination led her to accept an offer from Holy Family University Tigers (HFU), where she will bring her spirited energy to their NCAA Division II softball team next fall.

Amirah, a standout athlete for the Warriors, starts in four sports. She is on the brink of breaking the school’s all-time hits record in softball this spring (40).

An A student, who also competes in track and field, cheer, and basketball for the Warriors is eyeing the same kind of success she’s had in Bristol at HFU, she said.

Amirah said the secret to her success is “staying focused” and knowing that “playing high school and now university athletics is a privilege.”

Amirah, who turns 18 next month, and her mother, Shawna, point to her older sister, who also played softball and now attends East Stroudsburg University, majoring in sports management. She is an inspiring figure in their family’s love of the sport.

We’ve been involved with softball for a long time and I am so proud of Amirah.

“Softball is a big passion in our family,” her mom said

She doesn’t stop. It is an all-year round cycle of practice, then practice, then practice, going from one sport to the other, her mom said.

“She loves sports and watching her play is my joy!”

Amirah, a senior center fielder for the Warriors, said softball is the favorite among four sports she plays.

Amirah was awarded two scholarships to offset university costs; one is a softball-related academic scholarship. She plans to live on campus for her first year at HFU and commute for the years following. She said she is still unsure about her major. However, she is very interested in health sciences, like radiology as a possible course of study at HFU.

“I wanted to continue my athletic career and I felt Holy Family was the perfect fit for what I was looking for in a school not only athletically but academically as well” as to why she chose the Philly based university.

“My sister, Samiyah, inspires me by always showing me that even when you get down, it’s important to get back up and keep pushing. and my mom inspires me the most by being a great role model and showcasing non stop dedication and determination. she instilled a mindset into me that if i wanted something i had to work hard to get it.”

BHS Cheer Coach Amy Waldron said she will miss Amirah’s leadership as a hard worker in and out of the classroom.

“Her dedication, commitment, school pride and spirit is what makes her a true ambassador of Bristol High School sports programs.”

Amirah’s hard work in the classroom and athletics, Softball Coach Dave Chichilitti said, led to her having a number of college and university option ns to choose from.

“I am extremely proud of Amirah for achieving this accomplishment… Many sacrifices had to be made in order for her to reach this level of success it has been my pleasure to coach her”

Besides friendly competition with her boyfriend, Lower Bucks Source discovered another gift or interest of hers. Amirah spends her free time building Lego structures, a hobby she has enjoyed the past three years during any “downtime.”

She said for her birthday and holiday gifts, Legos are now the gift of choice from friends and family members.

Sometime next fall in her on campus living quarters, Amirah, will build a Lego set while she seeks to set NCAA Division II HFU Tiger records and continues to excel in her academic pursuits, and that readers a truly cool story we hope to tell in the near future.
