Meehan Supports Postponing PA Primaries until June, Continues with Fitzpatrick Attacks

Pennsylvania Republican Congressional candidate Andy Meehan said he supports the idea of postponing the primary elections from April until June, which is a plan being considered in Harrisburg presently.

Meehan said Tuesday he supports these measures by Pennsylvania leadership to safeguard the health & safety of all citizens, while preserving the integrity of our election process and access to the ballot box.

“The Pennsylvania legislative proposal includes rescheduling the date of the upcoming Primary Election, as well as consolidation of polling locations & allowing for absentee ballots to be counted earlier”,  Meehan said in a press release.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer,  a vote is expected in the House on Wednesday on the measure to move April’s Primary to June.

“After amending the bill Tuesday, the full House can vote to approve the bill Wednesday, sending it to the Senate. Because the bill had previously gone through the chamber, senators can simply concur with its amended version, sending it to Governor Wolf to be signed into law” the Inquirer reported.

Meanwhile, Meehan has continued with attacks on Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) and the county party.

Meehan  said he was denied the opportunity to debate Fitzpatrick.  He explained in an early March interview that he had an e-mail exchange with Debate Moderator William Pezza who informed him Fitzpatrick declined to debate him.

Meehan said Fitzpatrick was clearly afraid to debate him and that’s the only reason he wouldn’t.

“Consistent with both the Bucks and Montgomery County GOP committees’ conclusion following a full committee vote, we will not give a platform to a convicted criminal who refers to themselves as a ‘Nazi’ and who uses hateful language against various minority and ethnic groups in an attempt to divide our community”, Kate Constantini, a Fitzpatrick campaign spokesperson said at the time.

“He’s not a true conservative”, Meehan said of Fitzpatrick, “he consistently votes for the democratic agenda and is a true Rhino”.

Meehan, an avowed “Trump supporter”, recently earned the endorsement of Bensalem Trump Store owner, Mike Domanico.

Meehan is holding a Town Hall Conference Call tonight where voters can ask questions of the candidate and learn more about his agenda.
