Morrisville Councilwoman to Resign, to be sworn in as District Judge

Morrisville’s Corryn Kronnagel will be trade in her council seat for the robe of District Justice in Doylestown as she will be sworn in Monday morning.
Kronnagel, who won the most hotly contested District Justice campaign in recent memory in Lower Bucks County, will be sworn Monday at 9 am, and will submit her resignation from the Morrisville Borough Council around the same time, she said last week.
Kronnagle said she was really excited about moving on to her new position, in the very busy district court, she said.
Kronnagel , said a number of people in recent months have reached out to offer help and support as she was preparing to take on the position she won in November by beating Tom Augustin, of Lower Makefield decisively.
The trial lawyer will now take her seat on the other side of the courtroom, but added that she enjoyed her time serving as a councilwoman saying in terms of her what she thought were her accomplishments were the Junior Councilperson program Morrisville offers students in the borough meant alot to her.
Kronnagel will said that for her time on council I was one of eight members. And as a member I tried to meet the needs and concerns of my constituents of the first ward.
In an October interview with LBS, the Councilwoman said she had to take some time to think about running for the position at first later concluding this position was a “perfect fit for me”
“I believe that my background as an attorney with extensive litigation experience, coupled with time spent as an elected official in Morrisville Borough, has given me the knowledge and skills to ensure fairness and integrity as the next Magistrate” she said in October.
Augustin a Lower Makefield Township Police Officer, will have cases heard at the Morrisville Court, even though, the election battle between the two at the end became heated on social media, as supporters of each made the case for each taking the positions temporarily held by Senior Justice Michael Durkin.
Durkin, in November said he was unsure where he would wind up and wouldn’t know where until the Philadelphia office that oversees senior judges in the region, tells him.
The seat for the 11th Judicial District opened when the Honorable Michael J, Burns unexpectedly died in April 2017.
Morrisville dedicated a bench in Burns memory last year outside of the offices of the court and senior center.
