NWS Issues Wind and Coastal Flood Advisories

The National Weather Service issued two advisories for the Lower Bucks area a short time ago as hazardous weather hits the area on Friday.

Strong potentially damaging winds forecaster’s say will plague the area until 7 p.m. tonight, with gusts peaking at 55 mph at times and winds blowing from 20 to 30 mph. Power outages are possible the service says along with tree limbs and unsecured being blown around. The service warns the motorists to use caution if operating a high profile vehicle. 

The second advisory is for coastal flooding in Bristol/Burlington area with impacts potentially to be  one foot of near shorelines and coastal areas. The warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Friday evening.  NWS suggests that you doo not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.
