NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance) and County of Bucks officials will bring together community leaders, law enforcement, and local advocates for the Bucks County Rally Against Sexual Violence, a public event aimed at supporting survivors and calling for systemic change.
The rally takes place in the courtyard of the Bucks County Administration Building, 55 E. Court St Thursday, October 8, at 11 a.m. in the courtyard of the Bucks County Administration Building.
In a shared show of support, organizers seek to raise awareness, promote prevention, and emphasize justice and accountability throughout the region.
Scheduled speakers include Penelope Ettinger, executive director of NOVA; Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, Bucks County commissioner; Joe Khan, Bucks County district attorney; and representatives from local law enforcement and partner organizations.
Sexual violence affects individuals, families, and entire communities. The event provides a space for Bucks County residents to stand together, elevate survivor voices, and reinforce the community’s collective responsibility to foster safer environments.
“All of us know somebody who has experienced or been impacted by sexual violence,” said Ellis-Marseglia. “Counted among the survivors are our friends, our neighbors and relatives, and standing with them means more than just offering words of support. It means creating systems that respond with compassion, ensuring survivors can access the help they need to feel safe, and working together as a community to prevent violence and hold offenders accountable.”
“Survivors should never have to wonder whether their community will stand with them,” said Penelope Ettinger, Executive Director, NOVA. “This rally is about making that support visible. It is about listening to survivors, believing them, ensuring they have access to services and continuing the work necessary to prevent sexual violence before it happens.”
