Bristol Township to Honor Retiring McCauley at Council Meeting Tonight.

Bristol Township Council will honor retiring township manager tonight with a bit of Bill’s” own humor,

said on Wednesday.
Presentation to Township Manager William J. McCauley, III upon his Retirement with Bristol Township, it reads on the agenda for Wednesday night, but the plaque being given as a gift is entirely something else.
McCauley resigned earlier this month, but will stay on as a special consultant, Bowen said.
McCauley in the early days of his tenure as manager of the second largest municipality, population wise, in Bucks County, came to be known as “Dr Gloom and Doom.”
McCauley took to the nickname in such a way he would refer to himself at council meetings as “ Dr Gloom and Doom”
McCauley’s sense of humor at times put off township residents and employees, but as he saw it, “I have a job to do and that’s continue to cut away at the unfunded millions of debt this township is holding.”
“So yea there is gloom and doom in that” he said in 2013.
Deputy Township Manager Randee Elton is currently running the township, in terms of management, and Bowen said he expects it’ll be her job soon to have.
