Looking for an outdoor adventure? Something to do involving nature? Well the Silver Lake Nature Center (SLNC) in Bristol Township has got that and more for you this month! Check out this months happenings at SLNC.
Registration for SLNC’s Summer Nature Camp OPENS on January 4th!! This awesome Day Camp, for 5 – 14 year olds, will run from Monday, June 20th through Friday, August 26th, from 9am to 4pm, with Before/After Care Options available. Volunteer Work Day. Saturday, January 8th, 9am – 12pm. Help us maintain our grounds, and keep SLNC so beautiful! Be prepared to get wet and dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle. This event is Rain or Shine. Register by visiting , or by calling 215-785-1177.
Earthship Tours. Saturday, January 15th, 1 – 2:30pm. FREE. The SLNC Earthship will be open to the public today! Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures! Register by visiting or by calling 215-785-1177.
FREE Guided Walk on the SLNC Trails. Sunday, January 16th, 2 – 3pm. Join certified Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, Patricia Merkel, for this leisurely, informative walk covering seasonal topics.
Day-off from School Camp. January 17th, 9am – 4pm. Why only have Camp in the summer when you can do it in all seasons?! Our School-year Camp Days are scheduled for days when most schools are off. Each Camp Day provides exciting seasonal adventures for your child (5 – 14 years old). Staff and Campers spend the days exploring the forest, swamps, and marsh in all weather. Prices: $65/child per day for Friends of SLNC Members; $80/child per day for Non-members. Full payment is required at time of registration. Trails are open daily, from Sunrise to Sunset. SLNC Visitors’ Center is open, Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10am-5pm & Sundays, Noon-5pm.
Groups/Clubs that Meet at SLNC

West Chester University Harp Ensemble ~ Rehearses at 6pm on the 3rd Monday of most months. It is free to stop by to listen to the beautiful music. Contact: Professor Gloria Galante at for info/registration.
The Silver Lake Nature Center, where learning comes naturally, is a 264-acre Nature Preserve located in Bristol Township, Bucks County. It is a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation with additional funding and staffing provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center nonprofit organization. SLNC is home to over 40 plant and animal species listed as rare, threatened, or endangered in Pennsylvania. Participation in programs helps protect these species and their habitats. The Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation was established in 1953. The Department is responsible for the acquisition, development, and preservation of open space and regional parks. The Department seeks in every endeavor to improve the quality of life and environment for all Bucks County residents, by working to enhance existing and projected recreational and cultural needs for our County.
